Although I am not normally looking for units with a generally lower than average performance, I was in need of a reliable combo unit that would allow me to weld and cut various metals. Seeing as I didn’t have a lot of money at the time, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the Everlast SuperUltra 205 multiprocess unit at an extremely low price. In the beginning, I was extremely wary of the price, but since Everlast has proven to be a trusted manufacturer of quality units, I decided to finally purchase this unit and use it for light repair works around the house.

For a user on the go
Right out of the box, I noticed that this combo unit was extremely lightweight. Just to make sure, I tried carrying it around the house, but without a doubt it turns out that this might have been the lightest, most easily portable unit I have had a chance to carry. It had a fairly compact design, so it can easily fit slightly crowded workspaces without a single issue. Taking a look at the interface, it didn’t take me too long to realize that the controls are simple and 2 preset pulse settings to adjust the TIG welding mode very easily.
A neat little unit
The torches are replaced very easily, so even if you didn’t have a chance to use a combo unit of this kind before, you will find it very easy to switch between the TIG and the Plasma Cutting torch. The power consumption ratio has been lowered thanks to the new inverter design, and you can expect a 60% duty cycle at rated amperages for the TIG, stick and plasma cutting mode. The duty cycle safety feature exists to warn users about the duty cycle being exceeded, so you can rest assured that any operation you might be performing at the moment will be interrupted as soon as a fault is discovered to ensure your safety.
Not suitable for industrial uses
There is a dual voltage feature, allowing users to operate the multiprocess unit on 120V or 240V. in terms of performance power, the TIG welder has 110A of power, the stick welder has 95A, while the plasma cutter has merely 25A. Overall, the unit appears to be fairly well-balanced, although I wouldn’t recommended for any intermediate or commercial grade projects. It has officially been recommended mostly for light repair work, and hobby-based tasks, so everything over that would be a strain.

“Received my unit about a month ago, and extremely pleased with its performance on 240v in all processes! Customer Support was also awesome when I had a moment of stupidity with the torch! Highly recommend, will keep buying from this manufacturer (this is my second unit from them).”
“Machine works well, but the instructions that come in the box are TERRIBLE. Luckily I was able to download the English version of the full manual from the Everlast website. At the price point of this machine, I couldn’t have asked for more. I will buy more Everlast in the future.”
